Great neighborhood alert in Catonsville: Rollingwood!
I have several friends who live in this sweet little community which is sometimes called Keeper Hill. It's bordered by Frederick Road at the top and Rolling Road and Devere on either side. The neighborhood has several streets which play off the Rolling Road name such as Rollingwood, Rollingbrook and Rollingfield.
Like a lot of Catonsville neighborhoods, you can walk to several local shops and businesses from here. Opie's and Scittino's are just around the corner on Edmondson as well as the new Rollingbrook Yoga studio which was co-founded by a resident of this neighborhood. Family Affair Produce and Dimitri's are also walking distance.
The Devere Playground here is well used by the many kids and families as well as people who come from all over Catonsville to play, picnic and use the basketball court.
The Lismore Lane part of the area has a twice yearly block party where neighbors eat, drink and catch up as the kids play up and down the street. It looks like a blast and a great way to celebrate summer!
Catonsville is a really convenient place to live, just up the street from old town Ellicott City, 10 minutes from Columbia & Baltimore and less than an hour from Washington, DC & Annapolis. We are close to everything but our community still has a small town feel including one of the best 4th of July parade's around!
